Urovalve announces appointment of Subbarao V. Yalla, M.D. to Scientific Advisory Board

Newark, NJ, September 26, 2007 - Urovalve, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Subbarao V. Yalla has become a member of its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Yalla is Professor of Surgery (Urology) at Harvard Medical School. Since 1974, Dr. Yalla has been working at the VA Boston Healthcare system, an affiliate of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He served as the Chief of Urology from 1976 through 2005. Dr. Yalla was born in India and graduated from Andhra University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in surgery. He completed his Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his research focus on upper urinary tract physiology. He later went through the Residency Program in Urology at the Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Yalla has published numerous scientific articles and several book chapters. He is a reviewer for many national and international journals, has served on several national and international committees, and has been honored with numerous awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Urodynamic Society in 1996 and the Yamanouchi Research Award for Urinary Incontinence from the American Urology Association in 1998.
